We previously profiled Dandelion for their cool, new John Lennon stuffed animals collection. Now the company has caught our attention again with the release of a line of tableware products made entirely from corn. Instead of being derived from petroleum, these products are instead made using a corn bio-plastic that’s BPA-free, biodegradable and compostable. The creation of the corn-based utensils, plates, and bowls also takes less energy and creates less greenhouse gases than standard plastics.

Simply wash by hand and reuse — though we imagine throwing these things in the dishwasher probably wouldn’t be the best move. You can pick up a pack of 2 over at Dandelion for $7. Looks like there’s even a cool corn-based sippy cup in the works! Nice!

Dandelion, creator of earth-friendly goods for kids, has just released a new collection of eco-friendly plush toys modeled after sketches John Lennon did for his son, Sean.

Called the “Imagine A Better World” collection, it features a whimsical kingdom of Plush critters; where fabrics are made from organic terrycloth, soft velour, and touches of canvas, and stuffing is fluffy natural corn fiber. Even better, each elephant, giraffe, or rhino comes with its own organic canvas diaper bag. There are also two sizes of stuffed animals — one for the big kids and one (with a rattle inside) for the little ones. Dandelion has even paid special attention to make sure the smaller versions are “touchable & teethable.” According to the site, there will also be a “Jumbo” size soon — so us big kids can tackle a John Lennon creation as well.

The collection is not available yet — but we can expect Dandelion’s online store to launch April 1st. Till then, have a look at all their new products here.
